Cookie Policy

Introduction

We use various common technologies in order to collect, store, and analyze data when you use our Services. This specifically includes cookies that can be used to identify your browser or device.

Where required under applicable law (such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation and/or other EU privacy laws, if applicable), we will ask you for your consent to our use of cookies that are not strictly necessary for the provision of our website and services (“Non-Essential Cookies”) when you first visit our website.

About cookies

What is a cookie: A cookie is a small file that is sent to your computer or is stored automatically on your computer or mobile device when you call up one of our services. When you call up a service again, it can recognize your browser or your device using the cookie. Cookies can store user settings and other information. Along with what are called “session cookies” which are automatically deleted after a visit to our services, we also use temporary and permanent cookies that remain stored on your computer or mobile device for a longer period.

Why we use cookies and other tracking technologies: The cookies used on our website primarily serve to provide you with the functionalities of our various services conveniently and securely (for instance, logging in to your user account). In addition, the information collected using cookies makes it possible for us to improve our Services according to customer desires, and to provide offers and advertising customized to you.

In addition to cookies, we can also make use of other technologies (e.g., pixels, web beacons, tags, advertising IDs) in order to analyze the use of our services, to personalize our services, and to display offers and advertising customized to you. For instance, when we send newsletters and e‑mails, we can use technologies that allow us to analyze what content is interesting to users and whether, when, and how they react to our offers (e.g., by downloading pictures in an e‑mail, clicking on URLs in an e‑mail or on a website, filling in form data, etc.).

Finally, we use various common web analysis and tracking tools to measure and evaluate the use of our services. Such tools, which are usually provided by third parties, provide us with information and statistics on the use of our services that help us to better understand the use of our Services and to adapt them to User needs accordingly.

Cookies that we use

Below is a detailed list of the cookies we use on our Website. Our Websites and applications are scanned with a cookie scanning tool regularly to maintain a list as accurate as possible. We classify cookies in the following categories:

Performance Cookies, Functional Cookies, Targeting Cookies and Social Media Cookies are also jointly referred to as “Non-Essential Cookies”.

Further Information on Cookies used by Web Analysis, Tracking Tools, Social Media & 3rd Parties

As mentioned above, we use various common web analysis and tracking tools to measure and evaluate the use of our Services. Such tools, which are usually provided by third parties, provide us with information and statistics that help us to better understand the use of our services and to adapt them to user needs accordingly.

For example, we use Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google LLC and Google Ireland Ltd. Google Analytics likewise uses cookies. The information generated by the cookie on Your use of Our Services is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. IP anonymization is activated for Google Analytics on Our Services. Thus, your IP address is previously shortened by Google within the member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the EEA. Full IP addresses are only transferred to a Google server in the USA and shorted there in exceptional cases. Google will use this information to evaluate the use of the corresponding website, to compile reports about the website activities, and to provide additional services to the website operator related to the website use and Internet usage.

Moreover, please note that selected third parties, (e.g., advertising partners) can use cookies and other technologies on our services in order to analyze use of the services, to personalize the services, and to display offers and advertising customized to you.

How to provide or withdraw consent to the installation of Cookies

Because we respect your right to privacy, you can choose not to allow some types of cookies. However, blocking some types of cookies may impact your experience of the site and the services we are able to offer. Additionally, if cookies are deleted, any opt-out cookies set by you will also be deleted. Such opt-out cookies would then have to be re-activated in case of another visit to the corresponding Service. Otherwise, you will be recognized as a new User and Your Data will be collected again.

i. You can manage your preferences relating to the use of cookies on our website’s Privacy Preference Centre. By clicking on the different category headings you can find out more and change our default settings.

ii. In addition, you can manage preferences for Cookies directly from within your own browser and prevent, for example, third parties from installing Cookies. Through browser preferences, it is also possible to delete Cookies installed in the past, including the Cookies that may have saved the initial consent for the installation of Cookies by this website. Users can, for example, find information about how to manage Cookies in the most commonly used browsers at the following addresses:

ii.            Additionally, for cookies installed by third parties, users can as well manage their preferences and withdrawal of their consent by using the means provided in the third party’s privacy / opt-out policy, or by contacting the third party.
